Making Noise for Teachers
SXSW EDU Is a Celebration
Empowered was at SXSW EDU 2025 – it is our third consecutive year of participation.
With a theme of “Make Some Noise for Teachers“, four of our staff members showcased our commitment to simplifying teacher prep and maximizing teacher joy at the nation’s premiere education conference.
10,000+ educators, students, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders gathered in Austin, Texas for this year’s event. The central themes of the annual conference were “belong”, “invest”, “transcend”, and “energize”. These ideas align well with Empowered’s commitment to helping increase educator fulfillment by boosting student engagement in building collaborative classrooms.
Empowered’s presence – including a booth in the event’s massive EXPO Hall, four staff members to introduce ourselves and our resources to attendees and a hands-on session in the Stand Together Trust Lounge.
Educators were excited to hear about our newest offering, an A.I. Lesson Plan Generator. This new tool, accessible to any educator with a free Empowered Hub account (create yours here), can create an activity from scratch or enhance existing plans and documents – as provided to the tool.
Growing Our Community
In addition to learning from and being inspired by presenters, panelists, and fellow exhibitors, Empowered’s primary reason for attendance was to introduce ourselves to educators.
Well over 1,000 people came to our booth over 3 days to get free basketballs and goody-filled water bottles. Our four on-site staffers had dozens of longer conversations about our commitment to helping teachers transform education. About 20 participants also came to our interactive presentation/activity demonstration.
All told, Empowered interacted with around 700 people including 450 conversations with educators. We found that most, like us, believe in the power of individualized learning and the transformative influence teachers have on students.
